How are our LARP weapons made?

• Foam padded weapons

  The foam is injected or moulded around the core rod. This creates a smooth surface which is either painted or covered with latex. This method of production creates a realistic surface texture and is favoured by major manufacturers. A special foam is chosen that has particularly favourable properties, such as Calimacil foam.
• LARP weapons based on the sandwich principle

  Here the foam is placed in layers around the fibreglass core and glued together. The sword is then covered with latex. Painted and varnished, the knife, axe and orc sword are ready for battle. A moulded polyurethane foam handle allows for maximum accuracy and attention to detail while ensuring a long life.

LARP weapons for character and role

Armed with a sword or axe, you can play many medieval or fantasy roles. Be it a Viking, Knight, Orc or even an Elf or Bounty Hunter. But you also need the right accessories. Shields are just as important as good clasps, knives and daggers. Leather defence slings carry the waraxe and other deadly accessories. Daggers and throwing knives will suit both the shield maiden and the assassin. The simple craftsman is perfectly armed with a blacksmith's hammer or a butcher's axe. Choosing Your Medieval LARP Weapons

The choice of your weapon should be carefully considered. Do you need it for medieval, fantasy or the medieval market? We don't want to restrict you, but your weapon and your role should match. This is the only way to look authentic. After all, you want to bring your role and character to life as much as possible. Your weapon is as much a part of this as the type of tunic, armour or jewellery you wear. The number of different roles in the Middle Ages was manageable. Firstly, there were the five major groups of nobles, clerics, lansquenets, craftsmen and peasants. There were also outlaws, brigands and buccaneers. The number of different weapons, however, was immense. They were divided according to purpose, origin, class and, above all, chronological development. The two-handed sword and the short sword not only looked completely different.

They were also almost incomparable in their use and fighting technique. The same goes for shields, chain mail or the gambeson with its clasps and fibulae. Throughout the many centuries of the Middle Ages, new weapons became more and more modern or could only be produced because of the improved art of blacksmithing.  Which weapon from which period best expresses your role and character?
