Sleeveless Medieval Dress, Overdress Lene, red

This long peasant dress made of solid cotton fabric (twill) is cut close to the body at the top. The button placket at the centre front has wooden buttons. Lacing at the back makes it possible to customise the fit. Lacing gives the strappy dress a bodice-like look. The attached skirt section is gathered at the waist to create a feminine body shape. Pockets are incorporated at the sides at hip height.

 

The sleeveless medieval dress is suitable for the high and late Middle Ages. With the right accessories, it forms a good basis for a maid, peasant or pirate costume. If you combine the dress with a long-sleeved underdress, it can also be worn on cooler days.
