At larp-fashion.co.uk you can find almost any weapon that will make you a feared opponent at your next performance. Whether it is a sword or a war axe, a black throwing star or a viking's stone hammer, with these weapons you can show all your strength and ferocity.
Even a simple knife can deliver a deadly blow if you draw it from your belt at the right moment. In the Middle Ages or at LARP, you have to be on your guard at all times.
Have a good fight!
For many LARPers, the absolute highlight is standing on the battlefield, weapon in hand, boldly attacking your opponent. LARP battles are great fun with a shield and sword or with throwing knives and jian. Of course, all LARP weapons are also padded weapons, because the game should be safe. Even a knife can inflict serious wounds, let alone a sword or a long dagger. High-quality foam weapons are the better choice for LARP. They may cause pain, but they will not cause serious injury.
But you don't have to see it at first glance. At first and second glance, our foam and fibreglass LARP weapons look deceptively similar to real weapons. They are of extremely high quality and carefully constructed using the best materials. Take a closer look at our LARP weapons. They will inspire you. All these excellent creations will make your heart beat faster. Take a look at the throwing knives, the excellent Japanese katana or the elegant Cretzer dagger.
How are our LARP weapons made?
The strong interior of our LARP weapons consists of a core bar, which is usually made of fibreglass. Similar to bamboo, fibreglass is both strong and flexible. This is the perfect base for a padded weapon.
The core is covered with foam of varying hardness, thickness and composition. The materials used determine how soft or hard the LARP weapon will be in battle. Medieval weapons should be comfortable and secure in the hand.
The handle is therefore often wrapped in leather or string. LARP weapons are special in terms of the materials used. The careful construction makes them little jewels.
- Foam padded weapons
The foam is injected or moulded around the core rod. This creates a smooth surface which is either painted or covered with latex. This method of production creates a realistic surface texture and is favoured by major manufacturers. A special foam is chosen that has particularly favourable properties, such as Calimacil foam. - LARP weapons based on the sandwich principle
Here the foam is placed in layers around the fibreglass core and glued together. The sword is then covered with latex. Painted and varnished, the knife, axe and orc sword are ready for battle. A moulded polyurethane foam handle allows for maximum accuracy and attention to detail while ensuring a long life.
LARP weapons for character and role
Armed with a sword or axe, you can play many medieval or fantasy roles. Be it a Viking, Knight, Orc or even an Elf or Bounty Hunter. But you also need the right accessories. Shields are just as important as good clasps, knives and daggers. Leather defence slings carry the waraxe and other deadly accessories. Daggers and throwing knives will suit both the shield maiden and the assassin. The simple craftsman is perfectly armed with a blacksmith's hammer or a butcher's axe. Even a wooden axe can be used in any battle. A great advantage of foam LARP weapons is their lightness. You will be able to fight nimbly and quickly with foam weapons in LARP. This is possible even if you have not trained with heavy weapons since childhood. This is also possible if you are a lady who is otherwise not so warlike.
Choosing Your Medieval LARP Weapons
The choice of your weapon should be carefully considered. Do you need it for medieval, fantasy or the medieval market? We don't want to restrict you, but your weapon and your role should match. This is the only way to look authentic. After all, you want to bring your role and character to life as much as possible. Your weapon is as much a part of this as the type of tunic, armour or jewellery you wear. The number of different roles in the Middle Ages was manageable. Firstly, there were the five major groups of nobles, clerics, lansquenets, craftsmen and peasants. There were also outlaws, brigands and buccaneers. The number of different weapons, however, was immense. They were divided according to purpose, origin, class and, above all, chronological development. The two-handed sword and the short sword not only looked completely different.
They were also almost incomparable in their use and fighting technique. The same goes for shields, chain mail or the gambeson with its clasps and fibulae. Throughout the many centuries of the Middle Ages, new weapons became more and more modern or could only be produced because of the improved art of blacksmithing. Which weapon from which period best expresses your role and character? Choose according to your role, but also according to your taste, then you will shine in your performance.
